Time for Remote digitisation in the flex market

The labour market is changing rapidly as due to the coronavirus. The government is trying to collaborate with organisations to preserve jobs and to give employees and employers perspective. The flex market has also been heavily affected, but organisations in this sector play a crucial role in keeping the economy going. Flex organisations add value by replacing employees.

Movement in the labour market

The number of vacancies for regular organisations decreased strongly since the beginning of the crisis. In the first 4 weeks of the crisis it declined with an average of 32% compared to the first ten weeks of 2020. Contrary to, the number of vacancies for recruitment and employment agencies which increased in the last few weeks. This is partly due to seasonal work and the demand for temporary jobs as a result of the coronavirus. 
 

Opportunities as result of the crisis

Flex organisations will play an even more important role in the labour market while recovering. Organisations in various sectors are going to be eager to hire temporary workers after the crisis. The crisis gives the opportunity to anticipate in the meantime and to review the efficiency, effectivity and security of their current processes. It’s crucial to set up these processes in accordance with laws- and regulations, such as the GDPR*.
