You send a single link. It opens in the browser of the phone someone already has with them. They register their identification, perform a facial check, and are done. You receive the outcome back and a file that you can present. No app, no scanner on a desk, no documents in the email.

One link instead of a folder with scans
Identity documents arrive just as they arrive. Via email, via WhatsApp, sometimes as a photo of a screen. Someone glances at them in between two other tasks. Exactly what has been assessed is not recorded anywhere, and this only becomes apparent on the day an inspector requests the file.
SecureIDLink That is reversed. The person captures their document themselves, in a secure environment, using their own phone's camera. There is no one in between who can edit the file. The checks then run automatically.
The link adapts to the document and the country, and to the language of the person opening it. You do not need to configure anything for each person in advance. Name, country, and an email address or phone number are sufficient.

SecureIDLink is the route, not the product
SecureIDLink is the way a verification reaches the person. You determine what is included in that verification. ID verification for the question of who someone is, Right to Work for the question of whether someone is allowed to work, Know Your Employee for the broader screening.
In addition to the link, there are two other routes. An SDK for those who want to build verification into their own app, and a REST API with webhooks for those who want to control it from their own system. The three routes can be combined and result in the same dossier.
Identity data requires careful processing
An identity document contains data that you may not simply process and may not retain longer than necessary. We set up the process so that you only retrieve what you need, and that you can trace what has happened.

Frequently asked questions about SecureIDLink
WHAT IS SecureIDLink precisely?
SecureIDLink is the secure web environment in which someone records their own proof of identity. You send a link, which opens in the browser on the phone, and the person goes through the steps themselves. It is the browser route of the DataChecker-platform, alongside the SDK and the REST API. You determine what is included in the verification: ID Verification, Right to Work or a broader screening.
Does the candidate need to install an app or create an account?
No. The environment runs in the browser and uses the camera of a regular phone. Nothing needs to be installed and no account is required. This is especially convenient for people you only verify once, and for candidates who don't have the space or inclination to download an app for it.
Is the NFC chip also read via the link?
Limited. Reading the NFC chip in a passport or ID card does not work reliably from a mobile browser, certainly not on Android. If you want to read the chip, this is done via the SDK that you include in your own app. Via SecureIDLink The document and the photo are visually inspected, including authenticity features and the MRZ.
Which documents and countries are supported?
Passports, identity cards, driving licenses and residence documents from more than 200 countries. The link adapts to the document type and country, so you do not need to know in advance what someone is going to submit. If the system cannot resolve a document, a document reviewer assesses the case with the findings alongside.
How does the link reach the candidate?
In three ways. From the DataCheckerYou send an invitation via email or SMS using the platform, for which only name, country, and contact details are required. From your own system, you retrieve the link via the API, for example, immediately after a job application or a contract request. And you can open the link in an in-app browser or webview within your own environment, without the need for an app release.
What does the candidate see of the outcome themselves?
The person only sees what they need to do and whether it was successful. The assessment itself, including checks on authenticity features, facial comparison, and liveness, ends up in your file. This separates the candidate's experience from the information you need to substantiate what has been checked.
What happens to the documents after verification?
The processing takes place within the EU and DataChecker applies a standard retention period of 48 hours for the submitted documents. You determine what remains in your file after that during the setup. DataChecker is ISO 27001 certified, and a data processing agreement is a standard part of the contract. The purpose, legal basis, necessity, duty to inform, and retention period remain the responsibility of your organization.
