What identity verification software does.
Someone sends you a photo of their passport. Is the document real? Is it theirs? And is the person holding the phone actually them? Identity verification software answers those three questions automatically, using the document, the chip inside it and a live selfie, and the result comes back straight away. That is ID verification in its simplest form.
The check itself is the easy bit. The mess is everything around it. Documents arrive by email, by WhatsApp, sometimes as a photo of a screen. Someone glances at them between two other tasks. And the gaps in the file only turn up on the day an inspector asks to see it.

Identity is not the same as eligibility.
Most identity verification software stops the moment it knows who someone is. Which is half an answer. A genuine passport gives you a name and a face. It says nothing about whether that person is allowed to work for you, or allowed to become your client.
We do both. The same flow that checks the document also runs a right to work check, screens against sanctions lists and files the outcome. Someone returning for a second assignment reuses them digital ID instead of starting over.

1. Invite
One link to the candidate or client. It adapts to their document and their country, and runs on whatever phone they already carry. No app to install, no scanner on anyone's desk.
2. Verify
The checks run themselves, and each one shows its source and its outcome. No black box. Your team sees why a result came out the way it did and keeps the final say.
3. Record
The file builds itself during the checks run, with timestamps and a retention period per document type. When an inspector asks, you export it. No archeology through old mailboxes.

Driving licence verification
Check whether a driving license is authentic and read out the license categories automatically. You learn not only that the document is genuine, but what the holder is actually entitled to drive. Relevant anywhere driving entitlement is a hard condition for the role, from last-mile delivery to long-haul transport.
PEP and sanctions screening
Screen individuals against international sanctions lists and lists of politically exposed persons. The check runs inside the same verification flow, so nobody has to search separate registers. Relevant for organizations that carry a statutory duty to screen clients and need to evidence how that screening was done.
Fish check
Verify travel documents against the underlying information system, so you establish whether a foreign document is valid instead of estimating it. Useful wherever international candidates or clients present documents your team cannot reasonably assess by eye. The outcome attaches to the same verified identity as the rest of the flow.
Deepfake detection
Detect manipulated or AI-generated images during a remote identity check. Forged selfies and edited documents keep getting more convincing, exactly in flows where nobody is physically present. This check adds a layer underneath the biometric comparison, without the candidate noticing anything.
Facelink and location check
Tie a face check to a location reading at the moment of verification. You then know not only who is verifying, but from where. Useful in remote verification where the context of the check matters as much as the identity itself.
Digital signing
Have documents signed digitally as the closing step of the verification. Contracts, declarations and consent forms are signed at the moment the identity has already been established. Everything stays in one file, with no separate e-signing tool to maintain alongside your process.

What is identity verification software?
It checks whether someone is who they say they are. The software reads their identity document, validates the security features and the data on the NFC chip, and compares the photo in the document to a live image of the person. The outcome is stored as a record you can pull up later.
How long does a verification take?
A couple of minutes on the candidate's own phone. The automated checks come back within seconds of submission. What actually determines the lead time is not the software but how quickly someone opens the link you sent them.
Which documents can be verified?
Passports, national ID cards, driving licenses and residence permits are supported, covering 196+ countries. Documents with an NFC chip can be read directly from the chip, which is more reliable than reading the printed page.
Is the data stored in the EU?
Yes. Verification data is processed and stored within the European Union, with retention periods set per document type. DataChecker is ISO 27001 certified. The certification scope and the details on data handling are in the Trust Center.
What is the difference between identity verification and a right to work check?
Identity verification tells you who someone is. A right to work check tells you whether that person is permitted to work for you, based on their residence status and work authorization. A valid passport answers the first question and stays silent on the second, which is why staffing and logistics organizations usually need both.
